Laserfiche is hiring a Corporate Counsel who will play a vital role on the Laserfiche Legal Team. This role is an integral right hand to the Chief Legal Officer for domestic and international operations. The Corporate Counsel assists in protecting the organization’s legal interests and maintaining its operations within the scope established by law. They provide hands-on counsel to all levels of staff and departments and may assist in managing outside law firms engaged in legal specializations including tax, litigation, real estate, and Intellectual Property.
Location:
- Hybrid: Three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) in-office in Long Beach, CA
- Remote work from home on Mondays and Fridays
About the Role – Key Responsibilities
- Reviews and drafts all types of agreements, policies, forms and procedures for the company including: vendor agreements, requests for proposals, services agreements, and software license agreements
- Leads select projects and negotiations
- Researches and anticipates unique legal issues
- Offers counsel on a variety of legal issues and advise executives and staff within the company
- Supports the effective use, management and coordination of outside legal counsel specialists
- Supports corporate governance matters
- Prepares ongoing and/or supplemental learning materials for company and in time, presents them to colleagues on various legal subjects
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships within the organization's legal department and across all departments
- Delivers high quality work on time and follows up diligently with other parties to bring projects to completion
About You – Essential Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate or LLM from top tiered law school
- Must be admitted to the California bar
- 4-6 years of corporate legal experience; preferably a combination of law firm and inhouse work
- Sound judgement with high level of professionalism and discretion
- Strong sense of urgency/ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Global and cultural awareness
- Strong PC skills—knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Solid knowledge of broad base of legal subjects such as technology law, employment law, intellectual property law, privacy law, and/or corporate governance matters a plus
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with others at all levels of the organization
- Strong organizational skills
- Great team player
- Detail orientated
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
The salary range varies, and pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, certifications (if applicable), candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills and years of experience amongst other factors.
- $180,000 - $240,000 per year
