Laserfiche is a  fast-growing SaaS company that believes great products start with great environments. We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Building Technician to help keep our offices, corporate housing, and parking facilities safe, functional, and looking their best.

The Building Tech is responsible for supporting the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire life safety equipment for the building, corporate house, and parking structure. This role requires the ability to work independently, assist with troubleshooting and resolving routine issues with the support of the Building Engineer and Facilities Operations Manager, while also supporting the Building Engineer on complex projects and system upgrades. The goal is to ensure that all locations are safe, operating at full functionality and potential, and look their best for employees, vendors, and guests.

 

Work Schedule:  

Monday through Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm; or 9:30am -6pm (On-site) Long Beach, California Corporate Headquarters

 

About the Role - Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and lighting systems
  • Replace filters, bulbs, and perform minor repairs
  • Respond to work orders and urgent service calls
  • Perform minor carpentry and painting tasks, including wall touch-ups and finish work
  • Maintain and/or replace door hardware, locks, hinges, and handles, as needed  
  • Furniture assembly, repair, and/or relocation
  • Assist Building Engineer in complex troubleshooting, project planning, and contractor oversight
  • Support compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, building and safety codes
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies, as needed
  • Set-up/break down furniture, equipment, and other items for meetings and/or events 
  • Maintain tools, equipment, parts, and janitorial inventory
  • General cleaning of equipment, sweeping of interior/exterior spaces
  • Debris and trash removal that is not part of janitorial scope of work 
  • Escort vendors/contractors, as needed 
  • Assist with various tasks to support the team and building operations, as needed 

 

About You - Essential Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Strong ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities 
  • Ability to work independently  
  • Ability to follow through on assignments 
  • Ability to use common hand and specialized tools for maintenance tasks 
  • Basic computer skills, including use of email, basic office software, mobile apps, and work order systems (CMMS)
  • Maintains professionalism while completing tasks  
  • Must be able to work in mechanical rooms/areas, rooftops, and other non-office environments
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 25 pounds [and occasionally up to 50 pounds]. 
  • Must be able to work in a standing and/or walking position for extended periods of time 
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred 
  • 2-3 years of facilities, building operations, and/or mechanical systems experience  

The salary range varies, and pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, certifications (if applicable), candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills and years of experience amongst other factors.

 

  • $24.00 - $36.00 per hour
