Description

Laserfiche is hiring a full time Software Operations Manager that will be responsible for defining, leading, managing, and optimizing the engineering operations functions, including project management, and process improvement across multiple agile software development teams in the organization. The Software Operations Manager work closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers and Customer Support to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software products. The Software Operations Manager is not a supporting role, but a leadership role, who actively drives multiple teams to achieve company goals.

Location:

  • Three days per week from office - Long Beach, CA
  • Work from home on Mondays and Fridays
  • Must be available for occasional after-hours work, as needed to support

About Role - Essential Functions

  • Assess the process maturity of agile software development teams by defining agile team and DevOps metrics.
  • Define the best agile development framework for individual teams depending on the nature of the project, including SCRUM and KANBAN.
  • Managing by creating team agreements including Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
  • Use team coaching and mentoring skills to adopt and improve agile development mindset.
  • Oversee efficient execution of standard agile SCRUM and KANBAN ceremonies including planning, daily standup, sprint/service delivery reviews, backlog grooming/replenishment and retro meetings for multiple agile teams.
  • Host high impact cross team meetings.
  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to define project scope, team capacity, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Track progress against milestones and deadlines. Monitor and report on project progress, including progress against goals, risks, and issues.
  • Manage risk, issues, and escalate as needed. 
  • Work with Product and Customer Support and Product Management teams on support cases and product priorities.
  • Make sure team efforts align with company, and department goals.
  • Provide guidance on best practice of project management.
  • Provide guidance of team velocity tracking and improvement.
  • Provide guidance of project backlog management.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and delivery (CI/CD) and teamwork.
  • Act as temporary replacement role for Engineering Manager when needed.

 

About You - Essential Qualifications:

  • Superior communication and interpersonal skill.
  • Proven ability of coaching and training teams and individuals on agile principles, values and practices.
  • Strong understanding of agile frameworks, tools, and techniques, and of the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Proven ability to coach multiple SCRUM and KANBAN teams from low maturity level to high maturity level.
  • Familiarity with software development management tools like Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to identify and remove barriers to productivity and efficiency.
  • Ability to oversee the creation of clear, actionable and measurable goals and objectives (OKRs).
  • Experience with agile and DevOps (DORA) metrics and measurement techniques.
  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive data driven actions.
  • Familiarity with SaaS Site Reliability fundamentals (SLAs, SLOs, SLIs) is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical fields.
  • Scrum Alliance CSP-SM or CEC certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience with agile software development teams as an enterprise coach, agile project manager, technical project or program manager or product manager.

 

The salary range varies, and pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, certifications (if applicable), candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and years of experience amongst other factors.

  • Range: $115,000 - $155,000 per year
