Description

An Accounts Receivable Specialist works closely with the Credit Manager to manage the inflow of payments to keep the Company’s cash flow healthy and assists with all areas of the day-to-day functions within the receivables department, as needed.
 
Location:                           
  • Three days/week work from office – Long Beach, CA
  • Work from home on Mondays and Fridays

About the Role - Key Responsibilities                                   
  • Maintain collections for both SP and Direct customers, to include generating statements, and issuing collection notices and follow-up communications
  • Reconciles Aging reports between QuickBooks and Zuora
  • Report generation and analysis, as needed
  • Generate and publish unique billings for CO-OP, Aspire Classes, Empower Passes, Sponsorships, etc. and follows up for collections directly.
  • Engage with customers regularly on account status and facilitates collecting payments for aged items/difficult accounts
  • Process payments and other cash receipts
  • Process credit memos to include COOP reimbursements, as well as trade receivable credits
  • Balance daily deposits and record entries, as required
  • Analyze aged A/R accounts and present to Credit Director for further treatment as needed
  • Work with Sales and Client Engagement teams (when needed) to investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to invoice or payments.
  • Coordinate with the sales or Corporate Accounting team to resolve any customer payment-related issues, NSFs, and refunds, etc.
  • Collaborates with Credit Manager to maintain Company compliance with all A/R policies and regulations, both in the US and Internationally.
  • Oversees the Sales Tax / VAT compliance requirements for all customers and periodically audits certificates on file against state and country regulations; works with Controller to validate tax exempt status within CCH/Zuora.
  • Other duties as assigned
 
About You - Essential Qualifications                 
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles, including GAAP processes related to accounts receivable, and understanding of basic accounting rules and regulations and the policies and procedures of the finance department.
  • Concentration in A/R & credit collection experience desired.
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – able to work effectively across all departments and with customers
  • Analytical skills and excellent problem-solving skills a must
  • Must be detail oriented with attention to accuracy and possess the ability to prioritize and organize efficiently
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, specifically, Excel, required; Quickbooks experience preferred, Zuora experience a plus.
 
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least three years of accounting experience
  • Strong proficiency in MS office and general computer use
 
The salary range varies, and pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, certifications (if applicable), candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and years of experience among other factors.              
  • Range: $65,000 - $75,000 per year
