As a Benefits Analyst, you’ll play a key role in shaping and maintaining Laserfiche’s total rewards programs. From managing day-to-day benefits operations (like enrollments, audits, and vendor relationships) to ensuring compliance and supporting strategic plan design, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things benefits. This role also gives you the opportunity to analyze trends, lead compliance initiatives, and create clear and engaging communication tools that help employees understand and maximize their benefits.

Location:
- Hybrid: Three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) in-office in Long Beach, CA
- Remote work from home on Mondays and Fridays
About the Role – Key Responsibilities
- Coordinates daily benefits processing: Handles enrollments, COBRA, worker’s comp, leaves of absence, changes, beneficiaries, disability, rollovers, and compliance audits and testing.
- Oversees maintenance of employee benefits files, maintains group benefits database and coordinates with payroll administrator, as needed, to update employee payroll records.
- Audits employee benefit plans at time of eligibility and upon termination to ensure accuracy of information
- Resolves escalated benefits claims from employees
- Develops communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package.
- Designs and distributes materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions.
- Analyzes current benefits, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience and competitive trends in benefits programs, and identifies the company's stance.
- Supports the design, recommends and implements new benefits programs. Examines possible plan designs and benefits cost changes.
- Manages Benefits vendor relationships.
- Analyzes current benefits, surveys industry trends, completes benefits surveys and reviews information obtained from the results.
- Documents and maintains administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
- Performs plan audits. Prepares, collects, and organizes data for assessment.
- Manages annual EEO-1 Survey filing, annual non discriminatory report and filing/reporting of ACA requirements, federal and state specific
- Oversees and manages various compliance programs and creates a framework to track and audit compliance requirements.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports on benefits programs and other HR related projects
- Assists with other HR-related projects and programs as needed including but not limited to employee engagement activities, new-hire on-boarding, and employee relations
About You – Essential Qualifications
- Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs and processes.
- Knowledge of benefits contract language.
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, COBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements. Strong command of other federal and state employment laws
- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality; absolute discretion in handling sensitive/confidential information, strong ethics, and ability to exercise good judgment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong sense of urgency/ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Advanced Excel skills preferred (VBA, pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 5+ years’ HR experience with 3+ years in benefits or employee benefits administration.
- CEBS, HRCI, SPHR, PHR certification desired.
The salary range varies, and pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, certifications (if applicable), candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills and years of experience amongst other factors.
- $80,000 - $100,000 per year
