Engineering Manager, Cloud Services

Development / Engineering | Long Beach, United States & Long Beach & Remote States, United States

Laserfiche is looking for an Engineering Manager to help lead our cloud infrastructure engineering teams in building a growing enterprise SaaS application. You will lead two to three teams to achieve excellence in building reliable and scalable components that support Laserfiche's enterprise SaaS. You will be the mentor and coach for teams of software engineers and DevOps engineers.

As an Engineering Manager at Laserfiche, you will bring your experience in working with modern DevOps practices to lead teams building and maintaining deployment pipelines, health monitoring and logging infrastructure, threat monitoring systems, authentication servers, and similar infrastructure services that support a cloud-based SaaS. You will set standards for engineering excellence, work with architects and senior engineers to validate and implement system designs, and contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle. You will be a driving force to implement DevOps practices across the organization. You will be the primary point of contact for development teams across the organization in how to deliver, secure, monitor, and scale their applications. You have experience managing software developers, mentoring them, and coaching them to improve their productivity and quality of their work.

  • Oversee the development of on-boarding, training, and continuous learning programs across the organization by evaluating and adapting external training resources, conferences, and other resources.
  • Foster a DevOps culture: promote development practices that emphasize automation, data-driven decision making, and rapid iteration.
  • Lead design reviews, drive improvements to product quality, and facilitate discussions to resolve technical disputes.
  • Establish and lead the implementation of best practices for software design, coding, testing, and delivery across the organization.
  • Provide oversight and assist managers with coordinating the work of build and release engineers, product testers, and other business stakeholders during product releases.
  • Work with team and area managers to develop staffing plans to meet both immediate and longer-term resource needs.
  • Partner with product managers to ensure resources are directed to projects with the highest business impact.
